The National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe has announced that it will host two World Athletics CECS Level 2 coaching courses in Bulawayo later this year, aimed at strengthening the technical capacity of coaches in the country and across the region.
The first course, focusing on Middle and Long Distance, will take place from 26 to 31 October 2025 at White City Stadium, Bulawayo. This will be followed by the Throws specialization course, scheduled for 9 to 14 November 2025 at the same venue.
Both programs will be led by World Athletics–appointed Course Directors and will each accommodate only 15 participants, ensuring close supervision and high-quality training.
The fee for each course has been set at US$350, covering lunches, refreshments, and certification. Participants are encouraged to pay a deposit of at least US$50 to secure their spot.
NAAZ President Tendai Tagara welcomed the announcement, saying:
"These courses are a critical step in our mission to raise the standard of athletics in Zimbabwe.
"By equipping our coaches with internationally recognized skills, we are investing directly in the future success of our athletes and ensuring they can compete effectively on the global stage."
These coaching development opportunities are part of NAAZ’s ongoing efforts to improve the standard of athletics coaching in Zimbabwe, providing coaches with the knowledge and expertise needed to nurture talent from grassroots to elite levels.
