
Ariston Holdings Limited has announced the appointment of Mr Michael Allan Bailey as its new Chairman, effective September 1, 2025, following the retirement of Mr Alexander Jongwe.
In a notice to shareholders, the company’s Board of Directors said: “The Board of Directors are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Michael Allan Bailey as the Chairman of Ariston Holdings Limited, with effect from 1 September 2025.
Michael takes over from Jongwe who retired from the Board on July 28, 2025.”
Bailey brings with him more than four decades of experience in agribusiness and project development across Africa.
He has been instrumental in the development of Zimbabwe’s horticultural export industry and spearheaded several greenfield horticultural projects.

“Michael possesses over 40 years’ experience in Agribusiness and related Project development and implementation in Africa. He is a pioneer in the development of the export horticultural industry in Zimbabwe and greenfield Horticultural projects,” the Board noted.
The company expressed optimism about the new leadership, adding: “Michael joins the Group at an exciting time as it embarks on a growth and market repositioning path. The Board wishes Michael well in his new role.”
Meanwhile, Ariston confirmed the resignation of two senior directors.
Mr Jongwe stepped down as Chairman effective 28 July 2025 after a decade of service, while Innocent Chagonda resigned as Director on July 25, 2025 after serving on the Board for 14 years.
In acknowledging their contributions, the Board said: “The Board will always be grateful for the directors’ leadership and expertise.
"The Board wishes Alex and Innocent the best as they embark on new endeavours.”
