Bulawayo Chiefs eyes PSL promotion

Bulawayo Chiefs are edging closer to securing promotion to the Premier Soccer League (as they continue to dominate the Southern Region Soccer League.

The team currently sits at the top of the table with 58 points, three ahead of second-placed Nkayi United, who have 55 points.

The Chiefs will be looking to extend their lead when they face Mainline on September 27 at Chief Village in Bulawayo. Mainline, who are currently in ninth position with 38 points, will be hoping to cause an upset and slow down the log leaders’ charge towards promotion.

Speaking ahead of the match, Bulawayo Chiefs head coach John Nyikadzino emphasized the importance of the upcoming fixture and the need for full preparation.

“The game is going to be tough and we are expecting a tough match as usual. There are no easy games at this stage of the season. We are going to prepare thoroughly so that we collect maximum points,” said Nyikadzino.

 

A victory for Bulawayo Chiefs would further strengthen their promotion hopes and keep them in control of their own destiny as the season heads into its final stages.
