
Bulawayo Chiefs FC have secured their long-awaited return to the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Bosso 90 in a thrilling weekend encounter.
The win confirmed the club’s promotion for the 2026 PSL season, marking a proud comeback after a challenging spell in Division One.
Club CEO Javas Thulani Sibanda could not hide his joy as he reflected on the team’s journey back to top-flight football.
“We got valuable lessons playing in Division One, and it is those lessons that will guide and shape us into a Premier League team that is not just there to be relegated back,” Sibanda said.

“We were schooled in one of the toughest leagues in the country, and we cannot complain but appreciate the lessons learned. We are coming back rejuvenated and more vibrant.”
Popularly known as the Ninjas, Bulawayo Chiefs displayed grit, discipline, and tactical growth in their final matches of the season, showcasing the maturity gained from their Division One experience.
Sibanda added that the challenges faced in the lower league forged a stronger team spirit and a winning mentality.
“Those experiences have shaped us into a more disciplined and focused side,” he said. “We are returning to the Premier League not just to participate, but to compete and make a lasting impact.”
