Invictus Energy to spotlight Zimbabwe at Africa’s biggest energy summit

Invictus Energy will headline Zimbabwe’s pitch to global investors at the African Energy Week (AEW): Invest in African Energies conference, set for September 29 to October 3 in Cape Town. The event will feature a closed-door Invest in Zimbabwe Energies Summit led by the Government of Zimbabwe with Invictus as a partner.

“Zimbabwe is positioning itself as one of Africa’s most exciting frontiers for both energy and mining investment,” said NJ Ayuk, Executive Chairman of the African Energy Chamber. “The country’s emerging natural gas potential, combined with its vast mineral wealth, creates opportunities that few markets can rival.”

Invictus is advancing the Cabora Bassa Project in northern Zimbabwe, one of the world’s largest untapped frontier basins. The company began pilot gas production in 2025, supplying the Eureka Gold Mine, and is preparing to drill the Musuma-1 well later this year. Backed by a $500 million conditional financing deal with Al Mansour Holdings, the site targets up to 1.2 trillion cubic feet of gas.

Alongside gas, Zimbabwe is courting investment in coal, hydropower, and renewables, while consolidating its position as Africa’s top lithium producer with multi-million-dollar upgrades at Sandawana, Bikita, and Arcadia mines. Gold output is forecast to hit 40 tonnes this year.
