Chinoz Productions Acquires Rights to Tatenda Taibu Biopic


 

Chinoz Productions has secured the exclusive option agreement to adapt former Zimbabwe cricket captain Tatenda Taibu’s autobiography, Keeper of Faith, into a feature film, the company’s Chief Creator, Amos Chinodakufa, has announced.

“We’re thrilled to confirm that Chinoz Productions has obtained the exclusive screen rights to Keeper of Faith, the powerful autobiography of Tatenda Taibu, Zimbabwe’s legendary first Black national cricket captain and the youngest international Test captain in cricket history,” Chinodakufa said.

He described the project as a significant step toward bringing an authentic African sporting story to global cinema.

“This inspiring story of resilience, faith, and leadership against the odds offers a uniquely African narrative with universal resonance. We are honoured to partner with Tatenda Taibu to bring his journey to the global screen, crafted with authenticity, emotional depth, and world-class production value,” he said.

Chinodakufa added that the production house is now moving into the development phase and is engaging partners who share its vision for strong African storytelling.

“We look forward to shaping this journey with the right creative and strategic partners who align with our vision for authentic, globally compelling storytelling,” he said.

Chinoz Productions said more announcements will follow as work progresses on the biopic, which is expected to capture defining moments of Taibu’s cricketing career and personal life.
