Miss Heritage Zimbabwe is officially back after a ten-year hiatus, marking a major moment for the celebration of Zimbabwe’s rich cultural identity. The national beauty pageant, which first launched in 2012, last crowned a winner in 2020, Eva Mzondiwa before entering a prolonged break. Now, under the stewardship of Serene Soirees Events, the competition is making what organizers describe as “a triumphant return.”
Established in 2012, the pageant has long been positioned as a platform to honor and showcase Zimbabwean culture, with Melissa Chaka becoming the inaugural titleholder and representing the country at Miss Heritage International in South Africa. Over the years, queens such as Thabiso Phiri, Tendai Rukwava, and Francina Katuruza carried the mantle, helping build the pageant’s reputation as a custodian of national identity and pride.
Organizers say the new era of Miss Heritage Zimbabwe will be bigger, more impactful, and deeply rooted in cultural advocacy. Serene Soirees Events emphasized that the platform will “empower the girl-child, showcase Zimbabwe’s rich heritage, and prepare young women for global representation.” The winner of the revived competition is expected to represent Zimbabwe at the Miss Heritage Global Pageant in 2026, as the event transitions into an annual national fixture from next year onward.
