Ruwa Man Dies After Fight Over ZiG20 Change

 

 

Police have arrested two men in separate murder cases in Ruwa and Mkwasine, including one incident sparked by a dispute over ZiG20 change, the Zimbabwe Republic Police has confirmed.

In the Ruwa case, Harare police apprehended Luckman Kamangile ,27, a Honda Fit driver, following the death of passenger Amos Karumba ,40, on 19 November 2025. Karumba had boarded Kamangile’s vehicle from George area to Walter Mukamba and paid a US$1 fare.

A disagreement reportedly broke out when Karumba demanded his ZiG20 change.

Police say the altercation escalated into a violent confrontation.
ZRP said: “The suspect allegedly assaulted the victim with open hands following a dispute over ZiG20 change. The victim succumbed to the injuries while sleeping at home.”

Karumba later died, with authorities linking the death to the injuries sustained during the confrontation.
