Mbare Man Linked to Violent Raids That Net US$128k

A 45-year-old Mbare man, Elias Chimambo, has been charged in connection with two violent home invasions that left victims assaulted and property worth more than US$128 000 stolen.

The attacks are said to have happened in the early hours of September 30, 2025, when a group of men allegedly moved between neighbourhoods carrying out the raids.

According to the State, Chimambo acted with Blessing Charakupa and Justice Chihwai, who are already in custody, along with 12 other accomplices who are still being sought by police. The group allegedly first struck a house along Wessex Road in Mabelreign.

The men are accused of forcing their way into the home, threatening the occupant, Emmanuel Kazingizi, and making off with property valued at about US$122,000. During the raid, one of the suspects allegedly fired a gunshot into the air as Kazingizi was assaulted, with the attackers accusing him of stealing from their employer.
