The National Building Society (NBS) has marked its 10-year milestone through golf, using the sport to reflect its growth, discipline and long-term institutional vision anchored on community development and housing delivery on Friday.
The tournament, which drew competitive participation, highlighted the institution’s steady rise over the past decade, mirroring the precision and consistency associated with the game.
NBS Managing Director Sifiso Mahlangu said the milestone is defined by relationships built over time.
“As we mark 10 years of NBS, today is a reminder of what truly matters, relationships. The partnerships we’ve built, the conversations we’ve had, and the shared moments like this that continue to strengthen us,” he said.
He said the institution’s strategic focus remains unchanged.
“At NBS, our mission remains clear, to Bank, Build, and go Beyond. And going beyond, for us, is not just about what we offer, but how we show up, through meaningful engagement, collaboration, and creating spaces like today where relationships can grow,” he said.
Board member S Mrewa, speaking on behalf of Board Chairman Shingai Mutumbwa, said the decade-long journey reflects a vision that has translated into measurable impact.

“Ten years ago, NBS set out with a bold ambition, to redefine banking by building communities. Today, that ambition has evolved into a tangible reality,” she said.
She said the institution’s transformation has been driven by trust and shared progress.
“Through your trust and support, we have grown into more than just a bank, we have become a trusted partner in your progress and growth,” she said.
Mrewa said the significance of the golf tournament lies in the relationships it represents.
“Earlier today, we witnessed the remarkable success of our NBS@10 Golf Day, a day characterised by networking, camaraderie, and shared purpose. It served as a powerful reminder that the relationships we have built over the years extend far beyond business, they are grounded in trust, collaboration, and community,” she said.
She said the institution’s future trajectory will be driven by innovation and sustained impact.
“We remain committed to pushing boundaries, embracing innovation, and creating lasting value, not only for our customers, but for the broader communities we proudly serve,” she said.
Over the past decade, NBS has positioned itself as a key player in Zimbabwe’s housing finance sector, with its milestone golf tournament symbolising both its progress and its continued focus on long-term growth.
