A 38-year-old man, Virimai Mutanhaurwa, from Village 11 under Chief Masunda reportedly forced his 13-year-old daughter to watch pornography from his phone before raping her.
Mutanhaurwa appeared before Zvishavane magistrate Archie Wochiunga to answer to charges of raping his daughter.
Prosecuting, Moreblessing Chananda said that on a date unknown to the State but in December 2022, Mutanhaurwa, who is the biological father to the complainant, requested her to accompany him to fetch firewood from a nearby bush.
While in the bush, Mutanhaurwa forced the girl to watch porn movies in his phone before he had sexual intercourse with her once without her consent.
The girl later started to have stomach pains, forcing her to reveal what transpired to her stepmother, leading her to report the case to the police.
Mutanhaurwa was remanded in custody to February 3, 2023.
