Zimbabwe Cricket has unveiled its Zimbabwe A squads for next month's tour of Bangladesh, with the series shaping up as a significant stepping stone for players pushing for senior international opportunities.
The month-long assignment will see Zimbabwe A take on Bangladesh A in three one-day matches and two four-day fixtures, providing a valuable platform for established performers and emerging prospects to showcase their credentials in demanding subcontinental conditions.
The selected squads feature a blend of international experience and youthful promise, underlining Zimbabwe Cricket's commitment to strengthening the country's player pipeline. Senior figures such as Ryan Burl, Innocent Kaia, Wessly Madhevere and Tadiwanashe Marumani headline the touring party, while a number of players who impressed during the domestic season have also been rewarded with selection.
The tour comes at an important time for Zimbabwe cricket, with national selectors increasingly looking to the A-team structure as a bridge between domestic cricket and the senior international stage. Tours of the subcontinent are often regarded as some of the most challenging assignments for developing players, requiring adaptability against spin-friendly conditions and high-quality opposition.

For several members of the squad, the Bangladesh tour represents an opportunity to reignite their international ambitions. Madhevere and Marumani, both of whom have featured for Zimbabwe at senior level, will be eager to produce performances that strengthen their cases for future national team selection. Burl, meanwhile, brings valuable experience and leadership to a squad that includes several players still seeking their breakthrough at the highest level.
The one-day squad and four-day squad differ slightly, allowing Zimbabwe Cricket to expose a wider group of players to international competition. Innocent Kaia, Roy Kaia, Marumani and Madhevere are included for the limited-overs leg before making way for Tanunurwa Makoni, Dion Myers, Munashe Chimusoro and Johnathan Campbell during the red-ball matches.
Notably, some standout performers from the 2025-26 domestic season were unavailable for selection due to existing offseason commitments, including club cricket contracts in England. Nevertheless, the squads still feature a strong contingent of players viewed as part of Zimbabwe's future plans.
The tour begins with two 50-over matches at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogura on June 8 and 10, before the teams travel to Rajshahi for the final one-day encounter on June 13. Attention will then shift to the longer format, with both four-day matches scheduled for the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium from June 17-20 and June 24-27 respectively.
