Takashinga Patriots 1 have booked the first ticket into the 2026 NPL T20 Blast, leaving seven places up for grabs in an increasingly tight race that will be decided by a series of key head-to-head clashes.
Patriots 1 confirmed their place in the top eight after extending their perfect league run to nine wins from nine matches.
They have 36 points and a net run rate of 2.294, a position that guarantees their T20 Blast qualification even if they lose their remaining four matches.
The league leaders are now chasing a second prize: automatic qualification for the 2027 NPL Super 40, which will be secured by the top four teams in the final standings.
Patriots 1 require just two more points to make that qualification mathematically certain without having to rely on net run rate.
Eastern Titans remain second on 28 points, with SOGO Rangers Cricket Club moving into third on 26.
Gladiators Cricket Club and Queens Cricket Club are tied on 24 points, while the battle behind them is separated by fine margins.
Rimuka Cricket Club, Mbizo Cricket Club and Strikers Cricket Club are all on 20 points, with Rimuka currently ahead on net run rate.
