The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) has arrested a Harare woman accused of running an illegal operation involving the repackaging of sugar into bags bearing fake Tongaat Hulett labels.
Spiwe Mutandwa was arrested following a raid at a house in Southlea Park on Saturday evening, where investigators allegedly discovered a truck carrying more than 3,600 kilogrammes of sugar packed in 2kg bags bearing counterfeit Tongaat Hulett branding.
A weighing scale and other packaging equipment were also recovered during the operation.
ZACC said the truck, sugar consignment and packaging equipment were seized and will be produced as exhibits in the case.

Mutandwa is facing charges of fraud and contravening Section 84(1)(b) of the Trade Marks Act [Chapter 26:04], which prohibits the forgery of registered trademarks.
She is expected to appear before the Harare Magistrates' Court on 31 August 2026.
ZACC warned members of the public against engaging in the repackaging and sale of consumable products using counterfeit branding, saying such practices could expose consumers to products of unknown origin and quality.
The commission also urged consumers to purchase sugar and other consumable products from registered retailers and to inspect packaging for signs of tampering, spelling errors and properly sealed packaging.
