The Traditional Practitioners has Council of Zimbabwe has given notice to traditional health practitioners to register with the board including prophets, bishops, apostles and the church.
In a statement the TMPCZ listed all the categories that should register with their body by the end of March 2023.
“The Traditional Medicine Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe (TMPCZ) hereby gives notice to all unregistered Traditional Health Practitioners to go and register in the respective provinces.
“The required categories are traditional healer/faith healers, including prophets, apostles/bishops, traditional birth attendants/ spirit mediums, churches, local and foreign traditional medical associations, associations representing all categories of different practitioners, herbalists, herbal gardens, traditional wholesale/ shops, distributor/ manufacturers of traditional medicine, traditional surgeries/clinics and training institutions,” reads the statement.
“The council notifies the public that it is a legal requirement to register with TMPCZ in terms of the traditional Medical Practitioners Act Chapter 27.14 (Act 38/1981.6/200,.151.22/20010.4).1412022 42.
“Chapter 27 Part iv Section 31 stipulates that a person who carries out practices without being registered is liable to a affine not exceeding ($400.00) or to imprisonment for a period not exceeding two years, or both such fine and such imprisonment.”
