National Darts Association of Zimbabwe Secretary General Stephen Mwarindira, has said all is set for the 2023 National Open Easter Darts Tournament to be held from the April 6-10 at Milton High School in Bulawayo Metropolitan Province.
“As NDAZ, we are 90% ready. We are sure that all 10 geographic provinces make it to Bulawayo. I will have finer details by Monday in the afternoon as names of participants and officials are being sent to us daily,” he said.
NDAZ is encouraging all provinces to finalise their teams this weekend and advise if there are challenges that arise.
He said that provinces held their selection trials early and submitted team lists, full names of players and trial sheets to the National Secretary by the deadline of March 20 2023 and late submissions will not be accepted.
Mwarindira said each province must provide one men’s, one ladies’, one U-18/25 junior ladies’ and one U-18/25 junior men teams.
Provinces are also expected to bring their provincial banners with provincial emblem for procession on Official Opening Ceremony.
The tournament charges shall be as follows:
1. Provincial Annual Affiliation fees: - $100
2. Player Capitation fees: - $10
3. Team Registration fees: -$20
4. Player Registration fees:
a. Closed events: -$2.50
b. Open/Social events: -$2.50,
5. Raffle prize, item of a value of: -$20.00 per team and to be purchased before the tournament and handed to the National P.R.O. during registration) No CASH will be accepted.
6. Raffle sheet: -$0.50 per number. All raffle sheets to be sold fully before handing to the National Treasurer.
7. Fine fee: -$10.00
The secretary said all payments should be deposited into the NDAZ Account by April 3 and late entries will attract a fine of $20.00 per team.
Meanwhile, NDAZ has advised teams not to travel at night and those traveling from afar must come early to avoid walkovers.
