Magistrate accused of snatching married interpreter

The Mutoko Magistrates’ Courts were on Wednesday witnessed drama after magistrate Rumbidzai Mhandu was humiliated by her interpreter’s wife stormed the court, accusing her of having an affair with her husband.

Mhandu’s interpreter Simon Chuma’s wife stormed into her office, shouting at the magistrate thereby causing a scene as the magistrate was about to wed a couple.

The business of the court came to a standstill after Chuma’s wife’s outburst, forcing the couple to demand another magistrate for a marriage officer.

The interpreter’s wife claimed her husband was now staying with Mhandu, adding that the vehicle Chuma uses to take her to and from work is hers.
