Police dismiss recruitment advert as fake

The Zimbabwe Republic Police has dismissed as fake an intake advert circulating on social media platforms.

This comes as the Zimbabwe National Army had to issue a statement, warning people against falling prey to a fake recruitment advert that was also circulating on social media.

Police said on their official Twitter handle: “The ZRP once again dismisses a fake and false police recruitment advert circulating on social media platforms titled ‘ZRP 2023/2024 Intake’.

“The Police will accordingly advise the public through appropriate and relevant communication channels once the recruitment process is underway. The public and potential police applicants are implored to ignore the fake and false recruitment message,” the police tweet added.

Thousands of people have previously fallen victim to these fake recruitment notices many of which are generated with the aim of fleecing members of the public.
