Prominent church leader Apostle Eunor Guti, current overseer of ZAOGA FIF Ministries, has revealed that she turned down Wicknell Chivayo's US$2 million cash and top-range car because she did not feel spiritually righteous in acceptance and she was following her late husband, Archbishop Ezekiel Guti's example.
“There was no mind and will of God there. …… So, I followed my father.”
She said the offer, which Chivayo extended in his usual social media bragging manner, was made without her direct engagement at first, and she was only approached later.
“I did not know anything. The Lord made me aware of it,” she explained. “They were talking, talking, talking until another night… I think this man was sent by this man whom I don’t even know.”
She said she would not even take the money for charity purposes.
“There was a need in our projects. But I said not even in our projects… They better use it some way, but not even on our projects. No. We don’t want that.”
While Mai Guti rejected Chivayo’s cash and car package, many others have pleaded for the same, embarrassing themselves when they got rejected.
Podcast personality DJ Ollah made headlines for tagging Chivayo publicly for his dream vehicle. His plea, among others, was widely circulated online, fueling debates over dignity, desperation, and the optics of Chivayo’s public gifting campaign.
