The police in Gweru are on the manhunt for armed suspects who raided a Mukuru money transfer booth and stole US$27 000 and R66 300 in Lower Gweru.
The suspects, who were armed with unidentified weapons, blasted the booth before absconding.
The incident is under investigation by the police, who have since urged anyone with information to come forward.
National police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, said: “Police in Gweru are investigating circumstances surrounding a case of unlawful entry into premises and theft which occurred on April 22 at Maboleni Business Centre, Lower Gweru.
“Police recovered one unused Megamite EMEX 70 at the scene. Anyone with information to report at any nearest Police Station.”
In a separate incident, police in Bulawayo are seeking the arrest of a 43-year-old man who stabbed his wife to death following a domestic dispute on April 22.
Pascal Dube, stabbed his wife, Acquiline Sadziwa, 35, indiscriminately with a kitchen knife on the back before striking her with a stone on the head after a domestic dispute.
Sadziwa died on the spot.
