The Jairos Jiri Association on Friday received goods worth ZWL$1 million from United Kingdom-based Zimbabwean entrepreneur Ameerh Naran.
Handing over the goods, Naran said: “Zimbabwe afforded me an incredible upbringing and I do what I can to give back. Donating to charities is a family tradition, which started when my grandfather donated a school in Gweru to the Jairos Jiri Association.”
Naran is a private jet entrepreneur and car manufacturer and he pledged to continue supporting less-privileged communities in Zimbabwe.
Jairos Jiri resource mobilisation executive Grace Kamanga said Naran has been a perennial benefactor to the institution.
“The Naran family has a long history, which dates back to many years ago, when they donated a centre to the Jairos Jiri Association in Gweru. What makes their donation unique is that they ask us what we need and we give them orders and they deliver as per our request,” she said.
