A motorist on Friday lost his vehicle and a GTel cell phone to two men he had given a lift from Mabvuku.
The two men were armed with an iron bar and had been given a lift to Glen Norah 8pm.
Police said the suspects asked for a lift from the victim who was driving a maroon Toyota Sienta motor vehicle, registration number AGD 0972.
The two men allegedly pulled out an iron bar, forced the victim to the back seat and took control of the motor vehicle and drove towards Glen Norah.
They robbed the motorist of his Gtel cellphone and forced him off his vehicle before driving off.
Police said: “Police in Glen Norah are investigating a case of robbery in which the victim who was driving a maroon Toyota Sienta motor vehicle, registration number AGD 0972 was stopped by two male suspects who wanted a lift from Mabvuku to Glen Norah on 30/06/23 at around 2000 hours.
“The suspects pulled an iron bar, forced the victim to the back seat, and took control of the motor vehicle before stealing a Gtel cellphone.
“The suspects drove towards Glen Norah A before they forced the victim out of his motor vehicle,” the police statement said.
Police are appealing to anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the two suspects to report to any nearest police station.
