The Zimbabwe Chess Federation, in conjunction with the National Association of School Heads, on Thursday send a 30-member Under-18 team for this year’s African Youth Chess Championships that kicked off yesterday and runs until September 9 in Cairo, Egypt.
The team comprises Under 8 up to Under 18 players.
The boys and girls were bubbling with confidence hoping to outclass opponents from all the invited chess playing nations in Africa.
This tournament is a chance for young chess players from across the African continent to showcase their skills and compete against their peers.
The African Youth Chess Championship is open to players aged 6-18 years old, and will feature a variety of categories to accommodate players of different skill levels.
This is a great opportunity to meet other young chess players, learn from experienced coaches, and possibly win some amazing prizes.
