The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority says its new Tax and Revenue Management system will significantly transform tax administration in the country.
In a notice on their website, Zimra said TaRMS is set to revolutionise the way taxes are managed and collected in Zimbabwe.
“This State-of-the-art system will streamline processes, enhance accuracy, and provide taxpayers with a user-friendly platform for seamless interaction with Zimra. Taxpayers can expect TaRMS to simplify registration, enhance online services, provide real-time tracking of tax obligations, and automate compliance checks,” reads the notice in part.
Bank clients who called Zim Now this morning claimed they had received messages from their banks, advising of the launch of a new tax management system.
“We advise of the launch of a new tax collection system on 12/10/2023. Contact your Relationship Manager or visit any FBC Branch for compliance with Zimra regulations,” reads a message to a client from a commercial bank.
Zimra said temporary suspension of new taxpayer registrations and master data updates from October 9 to 11, 2023 will pave the way for existing taxpayers to receive their new Taxpayer Identification Numbers, which will lead them into seamlessly integrating into the TaRMS system.
The tax collector urged all taxpayers to familiarise themselves with TaRMS and prepare for the change it brings. Under TaRMS, Zimra aims to create a modernised tax system that meets taxpayers’ needs while efficiently supporting the country’s revenue collection efforts.
