The government has urged small businesses to be open, candid and innovative, adding that constructive dialogue will unlock their full potential.
Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Minister Monica Mutsvangwa said this at the Strategic Review Workshop in Mutare on Wednesday.
“Our strategic review will cover various aspects and is about setting clear goals, defining our priorities and allocating resources effectively guided by clear Key Performance Indicators, Outputs and Outcomes.
“I encourage you all to be open, candid and innovative. Let’s engage in constructive dialogues, challenge assumptions, and explore new perspectives guided by our Blueprints.”
Mutsvagwa said diversity comes with collaborative efforts and unlocking everyone’s full potential through constructive dialogue.
“Remember that diversity comes through collaborative efforts and unlocking the full potential of every one of us through dialogue.
“So, we value each one of you present today, including representatives of officers at ward and district levels who are present today. Therefore, this workshop is key as it will shape the quality of programmes and projects that we will implement in 2024. Let it not be ‘business as usual.’ We want to achieve impactful results as a Ministry.”
The Minister added that the Devolution and Decentralisation Agenda must inform all their programmes as they seek to respond to the needs of the entire population.
“Therefore, informed by our Devolution and Decentralisation Agenda, the Ministry must respond to the needs of people at household, village, ward, district and provincial levels and also bearing in mind that our structures go up to the Ward level. As our PDOs contribute to the Provincial Development Plan they must ensure that they speak to our devolved systems,” said Mutsvangwa.
The workshop was attended by officials from the Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Ministry, Zimbabwe Women Microfinance Bank, SMEDCO Bank, UNWomen, UNDP, UNFPA and care International among others.
