Zanu PF wins Gutu West by-election

Zanu PF now has 24 out of 26 elected National Assemblty seats after John Paradza resoundingly won the Gutu West by-election on Saturday.

Paradza got 12 147 votes to beat his three challengers, independent candidate Sebastian Mudzingwa who got 1 775 votes, Ephraim Murudu of the Citizens Coalition for Change with 1 258 and Robson Kurwa of NCA who got 138 votes.

Paradza, who is also the ruling party deputy secretary for Youth Affairs in the politburo, won the Gutu West by election after the postponement of the poll on August 23 when the nation held harmonised elections following the death of one of the candidates, Christopher Mutonho in a road traffic accident.
