A Harare man, Brain Matekenya, 38, of Number 1295 Makomo, Epworth appeared before Harare Magistrates’ Courts accused of raping his 14-year-old step-daughter.
Allegations are that on September 29, 2023 at around 23:00hours, Matekenya went to his step-daughter’s room while she was asleep and awakened her.
She was naked and Matekenya told her to comply with his orders’
He reportedly forcibly removed her trousers and pants before raping her without her consent.
Matekenya then threatened to chase her and her mother away if she disclosed the issue to anyone.
On October 9, 2023 at around 23:00hours he raped her again without her consent.
He raped her again on November 21 but on this day, she screamed for help and her mother came to her rescue.
The juvenile was medically examined and a medical report is yet to be obtained.
Matekenya will remain in custody until he appears back in court on December 11, 2023.
