38-year-old man rapes mentally-challenged girl, 13

A 38-year-old man, of Pentagon in Epworth, Talent Kadaurire appeared before magistrate Donald Ndirowei, charged with rape.

The State, represented by prosecutor Anesu Chirenje, told the court that on January 14, 2023 and at Glenwood, Epworth, Kadaurire, unlawfully had sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old female juvenile who is mentally-challenged.

Circumstances are that at around 13:00hours Kadaurire met the girl and told her that he want to give her money but she refused.

He then asked to have sexual intercourse with her but she refused. He grabbed her hand and dragged her to a nearby maize field where he pushed her down.

Kadaurire had sex with her without her consent, before leaving her in the maize field.

She went home and did not inform anyone.

The matter came to light when the girl told her friend, who told the girl’s sister on January 28, 2023.

The girl was escorted to ZRP Epworth to file a report.

She was medically examined and the medical affidavit will be produced in court as evidence.

Kadaurire will appear in court on December 18 for possible trial.
