As the war against cross-border crimes continues, police in Beitbridge on Friday arrested two people in connection with the smuggling of wild animals, Bron Cleer and Benylin Cough Syrup in Beitbridge yesterday.

Police confirmed the case on X.
“On 15/12/23, police in Beitbridge intercepted a Toyota Quantum vehicle belonging to a funeral parlour and arrested Lastborn Makonye, 41, and Melody Sithole, 36, at the Beitbridge Border Post, in connection with smuggling wild animals, Bron Cleer and Benylin Cough Syrup.”
Five wild peacocks, 36 ostrich chicks, 24 chickens, three parrots, one bush piglet, 10 Chinese pheasants, 576 X 100mls of Benylin, 147 X 100mls of Bron Cleer and one bucket with muscle booster powder, were recovered.
