15-year old Bindura boy kills himself over affair with 12-year old girl

Police have confirmed the death by suicide of a 15 year-old Bindura boy over an affair with a 12-year old girl.

Denzel Bute killed himself by taking poison on Thursday after admitting to having sex twice with the 12-year old whereupon the girl’s mother announced her intention of reporting him to the police.

Reports say that the 12-year old girl- at the behest of Denzel who wanted the pair to live as man and wife- told her mother that she was pregnant and wanted to elope to Denzel.

The mother accompanied the girl to Denzel’s home. There the mother presented her issue to Edward Bete, Denzel’s father.

On being asked about the matter, Denzel admitted to having sex with the 12-year old twice.

The girl and her mother left stating that they were heading for the police station to file a rape report.

Denzel went into his bedroom and took some unidentified poison. He was taken to Bindura hospital where he died upon admission.
