Zimbabwe’s ruling Zanu PF party said it is proud of South Africa for leading a landmark legal challenge at the International Court of Justice against Israel’s genocidal activities in Gaza, Palestine.
South Africa, this past week took Israel to the United Nationss top court demanding an emergency cease of Israel's devastating military campaign in the Palestinian enclave.
Addressing journalists in Harare on Friday, Zanu PF spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa said President Emmerson Mnangagwa was pleased with what Zanu PF’s sister revolutionary party, the African National Congress did.
“We are proud of South Africa whose stance is against genocides in Gaza. They have raised the global conscience in solidarity with the people of Palestine.
“We also take this opportunity to congratulate the ANC, which will be celebrating its 112th anniversary on Saturday. The President Cde ED Mnangagwa will send his message to the party that has contributed to national consciousness,” Mutsvangwa said.
During the court hearing, South Africa accused Israel of being too offensive in Gaza. More than 23000 people have been killed, according to Gaza health authorities, in a campaign they say is aimed to bring about “the destruction of the population” of Gaza.
