Bogus police officers in US$13000 armed robbery

Police are on the hunt for three men who identitified themselves as cops then stole a safe containing cash from a Harare residency

“Police in Waterfalls are investigating a case of robbery which occurred at a house in Leonard Road, Cheviot, Waterfalls on 22/01/24 in which three unknown male suspects who were armed with a pistol and handcuffs, entered a house through an unlocked door and identified themselves as members of the Police to the occupant,” the police said in a statement.

The three suspects allegedly went on to attack the occupant of the house before stealing a safe containing USD$13 000-00 and some valuables.

Police are appealing for leads.
