The Parliament of Zimbabwe has made changes to various portfolio committees by appointing new members.
This development comes as the December 9 by-election winners were sworn in. The by-election followed recalls of elected Citizens Coalition for Change legislators and councillors.
Speaking to parliamentarians in session, Deputy National Assembly Speaker, Tsitsi Gezi announced that there have been changes to the membership of Portfolio Committees.
“Pedzisai Sakupwanya will serve on the Committees on Mines and Mining Development and Local Government, Public Works and National Housing and Thusani Ndou will serve on the Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare and Primary and Secondary Education committees,” the Deputy Speaker notified the Parliament.
Other names making the various committees membership include Chineka Muchimba, who will serve on the Sport, Recreation, Art and Culture and Information, Communication Technology and Courier Services committee, Arthur Munjeyi will serve on the Local Government, Public Works and National Housing and Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare committee and Pathisiwe Machangu will serve on the Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development committee.
Albert Mavhunga will serve on the Committee on Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture and Youth Empowerment, Development and Training while Roy Bila will serve on the Committees on Health Care and Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare.
