Kuda Mahachi, seeking a fresh start after a challenging period, joined Manica Diamonds in Zimbabwe’s Premier Soccer League. The 30-year-old winger, who recently cleared his name in court, cited the desire for peace as his primary motivation for the move.
Mahachi endured a tumultuous few months in Bulawayo, facing and ultimately overcoming serious allegations. He expressed a strong need to move on, finding solace in the opportunity to play under familiar guidance in Mutare.
“I am happy to be here,” Mahachi said. “This move is my search for peace of mind. I desperately wanted to get out of Bulawayo, and I am happy I have managed to do just that.”
While finances weren’t the primary driver, Mahachi believes finding peace will be possible in Mutare, focusing solely on football. He emphasised the long-standing respect he holds for Manica Diamonds’ coach, Jairos Tapera.
“I have a lot of respect for that man,” said Mahachi. “He has been a mentor to me since I was young, and I am happy to reunite with him.”
Mahachi brings extensive experience from his time in South Africa with clubs like SuperSport United, Orlando Pirates, and Mamelodi Sundowns. This move marks his second stint in the Zimbabwean top league, following previous appearances for Bantu Rovers, Chicken Inn, and Highlanders.
Manica Diamonds fans can expect a determined Mahachi, eager to contribute to the team’s success while seeking personal tranquility in his new surroundings.
