Nampak AGM approves financial statements, re-elects directors

Nampak Zimbabwe Limited held its 73rd Annual General Meeting on February 28, 2024, where financial statements, reports from the directors, chairman, and group managing director were approved.

Proxies representing over 87% of the company’s shareholders were present and voted unanimously in favour of all resolutions tabled.

The meeting approved the company’s financial statements, reports from the directors, chairman, and group managing director, all for the year ended December 30, 2023. Additionally, the AGM approved director fees of ZWL$160 146 000 for the year-ended September 30, 2023.

Shareholders also re-elected directors A.H. Howie, M.M. Valela, and Ms. A. Aldridge. These directors were each appointed individually through a voting process.

The meeting further approved the appointment of PricewaterhouseCoopers as the company’s new external auditors, replacing Deloitte & Touche, who had served in that role for ten years. Deloitte & Touche received thanks for their services during their tenure.

“Deloitte & Touche, who had served as external auditors for ten years and were obligated to stand down, were thanked for their services. Approval was given to their replacement by PricewaterhouseCoopers until the conclusion of the next Annual General Meeting,” the company said.

It was noted that a trading update had been previously published on February 15, 2024, and the managing director, Van Gend did not have any further information to add at the meeting.
