The Zimbabwe Business Ideas and Network has partnered with Champions Insurance in launching a small business insurance package which will see small businesses insuring their hustle to reduce the risk of loss of properties.
ZBIN is are forum of small businesses entrepreneurs in Zimbabwe that has about 111 000 active members.
The small businesses in the country are under-insured and most of them suffer major losses through fires, rains and wind.
Speaking to Zim Now, Victor Muchemwa, Founder ZBIN said their partnership with Champions Insurance was aimed at ensuring that small businesses are covered to avoid mishaps in business.
“Our partnership with Champions Insurance is to help our members benefit from insurance financial inclusion. Whenever our members encountered mishaps, we have been circulating a hat for donations and this was not sustainable.
“So, peace of mind is achieved through small contributions of a minimum of $5 to $15 per month and we thought this was affordable. We have had many cases of homes that are gutted by fire, shops razed to the ground by fire, bus and vehicle accidents, robberies and thefts,” he said
He added that by insuring their businesses, they also stand to benefit through Insurance Agents opportunities.
By insuring their small business the entrepreneurs will reduce the impact of loss that one bears in perilous situations.
