Highlanders are approaching their home match against Simba Bhora with caution as the Premier Soccer League resumes action this week.
The Zimbabwean giants, who have started the season well under returning coach Kelvin Kaindu, are wary of the ambitious Simba Bhora side that has declared their championship aspirations this season.
“Our preparations have been going on well,” said Kaindu.
“We used the international break to work on some shortcomings that we noticed from our two games. We played a friendly match with our development side and we are confident based on what we saw.”
Kaindu acknowledged the challenge posed by Simba Bhora.
“It is difficult to face a side that has made its ambitions clear, but we will treat them with respect,” he said.
“So far, we cannot say we have seen the full strengths of our team. We have scored three goals, but the bad part is that we are conceding too many. We will fix that.”
The PSL returns with a bumper Easter programme featuring match day three and four fixtures. Match day three kicks off on Thursday with CAPS United facing Bikita Minerals, Arenel Movers hosting Herentals, and FC Platinum taking on Chicken Inn.
Other Thursday fixtures include ZPC Kariba against Ngezi Platinum Stars, Green Fuel entertaining TelOne, and Manica Diamonds welcoming Chegutu Pirates.
Friday sees Hwange hosting Bulawayo Chiefs and Yadah squaring off against Dynamos.
Match day four continues on Sunday with several exciting matchups, including Chicken Inn facing ZPC Kariba, Herentals hosting FC Platinum, and CAPS United taking on Arenel Movers.
Defending champions Ngezi Platinum face Manica Diamonds on Easter Monday, while Bulawayo Chiefs host Yadah. The final Matchday four fixture sees Bikita Minerals take on Dynamos.
