The family of the late Chitungwiza prominent businessman Robert Muchineripi Madzamba (popularly known as Coldaz) has laid to rest many speculations surrounding his death, attributing it to heart failure.

Famed for lifting dancehall musician Killer T to the shores of success, Coldaz ran a nite spot at Huruyadzo Shopping Centre in St Mary’s.

He was found dead in bed the morning after visiting his mother in Kuwadzana Extension.

Following the news of his demise, a lot of theories regarding the cause of his death did rounds.

A section of the rumour mill said he had committed suicide by consuming a pesticide following an infidelity row.

The other theory was that he had been set up by his siblings following a dispute around distribution of their late father’s estate.

However, a family member who spoke on condition of anonymity, said a post mortem conducted had since established the businessman succumbed to heart failure.

“On Wednesday he went to Kuwadzana to bid farewell to his mother who was to travel to South Africa where she is now based.

“So prolonged became their discussion that he was compelled to stay the night over at the family home and he actually called his wife to advise her of that arrangement,” the family member explained.

Coldaz is said to have asked his mother to prepare him sadza and his favourite relish of pumpkin leaves (muboora). After supper he drank a bottle of Stoney Ginger Beer.

Before retiring to bed, however, he is said to have complained about his feet which he said were hot.
