A 34-year-old man allegedly threatened to kill his ex-wife before producing a pellet gun during a confrontation at Bhello Shop in Harare.
Oriordan Chinhwalu, 34, appeared before the Harare Magistrates' Court facing charges of intimidation and possession of articles for criminal use.
The complainant is his ex-wife, Future Mushambadzi, 29.
The court heard that Chinhwalu then put her in an InDrive vehicle and demanded that she accompany him to her house, but she refused.
He allegedly became violent and threatened to kill her, saying, "Ndogona kukuuraya," meaning "I can kill you".
Fearing for her life, Mushambadzi started running away.
The court heard that Chinhwalu produced a pellet gun and chased after her, but the weapon fell to the ground during the pursuit.
Mushambadzi sought refuge in a nearby shop, where she alerted members of the public that a man was carrying a gun.
A police officer who was nearby responded and arrested Chinhwalu.
He is expected to return to court on November 19, 2026.
