A 35-year-old man, Joseph Chakauya, has appeared at the Harare Magistrates' Court charged with theft of trust property after failing to return a motorcycle he had borrowed.

The court heard that on December 13, at around 3 PM, Chakauya borrowed the motorcycle from the complainant with the promise to return it shortly after use.

However, Chakauya allegedly returned around 7 PM and claimed he could no longer account for the motorcycle.

The complainant reported the matter to ZRP Epworth, leading to Chakauya's arrest. The case was later referred to CID VTS Harare for further investigations.

Chakauya has been remanded in custody until today.
