Yadah FC Bounce Back to PSL After Eastern Region Triumph
Yadah FC have secured an impressive return to the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League after being crowned 2026 Pacific Storm Eastern Region Soccer League champions, sealing promotion with a 2-1 victory over Masvingo United FC.
The Miracle Boys secured their place among Zimbabwe's football elite for the 2027 season, marking an immediate response to their relegation from the top flight last season.
Having dropped out of the Premiership, Yadah regrouped with one clear objective: to win promotion at the first attempt. Under the guidance of head coach Kudakwashe Masaraure, the Harare-based side navigated a demanding Division One campaign before sealing the title with a crucial victory over Masvingo United.
For Masaraure, the achievement was not only a professional milestone but also a moment of personal relief and happiness, given the expectations surrounding a club closely associated with the church.
"I'm so happy as the coach. You know this club is for the church, and I was even worried that if I could now win the championship, my boss, Mr Walter Magaya, was going to be assaulted. So I'm very glad that it went as we all wanted," said Masaraure.
Yadah's return was not achieved without a fight, with the Eastern Region championship race remaining fiercely contested until the closing stages of the season.
Club chief executive officer Admire Mango paid tribute to the players, technical team and executive members, acknowledging the challenges of adjusting to life in the lower division after competing in the Premiership.
"The boys know this season was a bit tough. You know, coming from the Premiership and going to Division One, the competition was there. The race was hot until the last two games. So I want to congratulate the boys, the technical team and all the executive members," said Mango.
The club captain also attributed the successful campaign to faith, expressing gratitude to God and the club's leadership for the opportunity to lead the team back to the top flight.
"I'm grateful to God. I just want to thank God so much for the opportunity, and the executive, the team. I'm very, very grateful. I feel like I've represented God this season, this way. And it all belongs to God. I'm just an instrument," he said.
"Having led my team through this season and getting the promotion today, it's unbelievable. But I believe because I'm a saint and I'm a pastor. So I thank God so much and I'm quite happy."
The promotion represents a significant achievement for the club, which is bankrolled by Walter Magaya, as Yadah look to put last season's disappointment behind them and re-establish themselves in Zimbabwe's top-flight football.
