Zimbabwe ‘A’ Turn to Emerging Talent for Ireland Challenge

Zimbabwe Cricket has assembled a competitive 15-member Zimbabwe ‘A’ squad for the upcoming four-day series against Ireland ‘A’, featuring a blend of established players and emerging prospects as the hosts prepare for an important run of fixtures in Harare.

The two-match series begins on Thursday, November 5, at Harare Sports Club, with the sides set to meet again for the second encounter from November 12 to 15.

Experienced campaigners Takudzwanashe Kaitano, Clive Madande, Johnathan Campbell and Roy Kaia headline the selection, alongside Dion Myers, as Zimbabwe look to test their strength and depth against the Irish opposition.

The inclusion of former Under-19 players Shelton Mazvitorera and Panashe Taruvinga adds a youthful dimension to the squad, highlighting the importance of giving emerging cricketers opportunities to gain valuable experience at a higher level.

Both four-day matches will begin at 10am, providing the selected players with an opportunity to make their mark in the longer format as they push for greater recognition.

Attention will subsequently shift to limited-overs cricket, with Zimbabwe ‘A’ and Ireland ‘A’ scheduled to contest a five-match one-day series.

Old Hararians Sports Club will host the first three matches on November 18, 20 and 22, before Harare Sports Club stages the final two fixtures on November 25 and 27. All the one-day matches are scheduled to start at 9.30am local time.
