Harare City Face Moment of Truth

Harare City head coach Try Ncube has urged his players and supporters to remain focused and avoid distractions as the Municipality prepare for a decisive final-day encounter against Jumbo Giants in the MCM-ESTATES Northern Region Soccer League.

Harare City head into the final round of matches with a one-point advantage over closest challengers Black Rhinos, knowing that victory will guarantee them the championship.

However, despite being in a favourable position, Harare City have reason to remain cautious, given their history of surrendering valuable points at crucial stages of the campaign.

On several occasions this season, the Municipality appeared to have taken control of the title race, only to drop points and allow their rivals back into contention. Having experienced such setbacks, Ncube's men will be desperate to avoid another costly slip-up when it matters most.

With the championship now within touching distance, Ncube believes his team has an advantage because they only need to concentrate on winning their own match rather than worrying about the results of their rivals.

The Harare City coach has also cautioned against getting carried away by social media discussions and unnecessary calculations, insisting that the team must remain disciplined and focused on the task at hand.

"We have an advantage because we just have to win and not listen to social media or start calculating or phoning because we are one point ahead," said Ncube.

However, the coach is not underestimating Jumbo Giants, acknowledging that their opponents will provide a difficult challenge despite Harare City's position on the league table.

"But we are taking this game seriously and then we are also respecting our opponents. We know they won't be a walk in the park, so we are going to do everything in our power to make sure that we get the result that every Harare City fan wants," he added.

Harare City will host Jumbo Giants at Callies Stadium, where they will be hoping to turn their one-point advantage into a championship triumph.

Meanwhile, Black Rhinos remain firmly in contention and will be hoping to capitalise on any slip-up by the league leaders when they travel to face Karoi United.

For Ncube and his charges, the message is simple: stay focused, respect the opposition and get the job done.
