Local technology and communications company IMC has appointed former ZOL executive Denny Marandure as its managing director, with the company on course to rollout Starlink internet services in Zimbabwe.
The appointment comes as IMC has been approved as sole distributor of Starlink services and equipment following the satellite internet company’s licence approval by POTRAZ.
IMC had been scrutinised by various stakeholders who revealed that the company is linked to businessman and ZANU PF member, Wicknell Chivhayo, with the recent appointment and release of promotional material to market the company and services being its first public communication after it had reset its website a few weeks ago.
Posting on X, IMC said it comes to the market with the need to bridge the divide that has seen most parts of Zimbabwe (rural areas) and Africa as a whole suffer from challenges of adapting to modernity.
“Across the vast landscapes of Africa, where the heartbeat of our traditions meets the challenges of modernity, millions remain tethered by the digital divide. In Zimbabwe, the dream of global connectivity has been just beyond reach until now, IMC communications is lighting the path to a new dawn.
