A man who allegedly went to a Chinese national claiming their outstanding salary arrears has been taken to court for robbery.
Nilton Sithole, 30, of Zvimba, appeared at the Harare Magistrates' Courts charged with robbery.
The State alleges that on July 14, 2024, at around 0900 hours, Sithole and his accomplice, Josiah Saungweme who is still at large confronted the complainant, Qing Xiang Fang demanding outstanding salary arrears.
They forcibly tied Fang's hands with a string, took car keys, US$260, and a Redmi phone.
It is alleged that the accused were holding a machete, ordered Fang and other workers who were around to sit on the ground, and not intervene.
They went to his parked Nissan X-Trail and drove it to an unknown destination.
The court heard that Fang went the police and reported the matter.
As a result, the complainant was prejudiced US$5 000.
He was remanded and will appear in court on July23, 2024.
