Kurai Makore, the sonorous heir to the Chimurenga throne, once again proved his mettle as a formidable force in the music industry at the recently held Bira Rematendo. The event, hosted by Troyka Leisure Centre, was a star-studded affair, but it was Makore’s electrifying performance that stole the show.

Dressed to impress in a shimmering black ensemble, Makore commanded the stage from the moment he stepped into the spotlight at precisely 11:55 PM. His set was a nostalgic journey through the heart of Chimurenga, with classics like “Dindingwe” and “Andina Mwana anoita Rombe” sending the crowd into a frenzy.

The young musician didn’t shy away from engaging with his audience, offering words of wisdom amidst the high-energy performance. "Anoda mumwe wake ngaangomuda Ari pedyo," he advised the revelers, striking a chord with the crowd. His repertoire extended to other iconic tracks such as “Nhamo usanditevere”, “Ngoma ngairire”, “Ndadhakwa nehwahwa”, and “Ihondo muchengete vana”.

Thrilled patrons couldn’t contain their excitement. Leah, a reveller, expressed her delight, “This was a fantastic performance. We had an incredible time. A big thank you to Troyka Leisure Centre for putting together such a wonderful show.”

Tapiwa Mutiro echoed Leah’s sentiments, adding, “Kurai has undeniably demonstrated that Chimurenga music is here to stay. The future of the genre is in capable hands.”

Adrian Tinashe Makanga, Troyka Leisure Centre’s entertainment manager, couldn’t hide his pride. “As I’ve always said, Troyka is the ultimate entertainment hub. We consistently deliver unforgettable experiences, and this event is a testament to that. We’re grateful for the unwavering support of our patrons,” Makanga stated.

Makore’s performance at Bira Rematendo was a resounding success, solidifying his position as a leading light in the contemporary music scene and ensuring that the legacy of Chimurenga continues to resonate with audiences of all generations.
