Lazerouse Chipfeya has been granted a protection order against his ex-wife, Ema Chitsike, following allegations of physical and emotional abuse. Chipfeya described a pattern of aggressive behavior, including physical assaults and public humiliation.
In a harrowing account, Chipfeya detailed his ordeal, stating, "She comes to my house and beats me, sometimes when we meet in public she touches my underwear’s and she says my manhood is small and people will be taking videos." Seeking to protect his dignity and well-being, he requested a complete cessation of communication from his ex-wife.
Chitsike, however, has denied the allegations, claiming she only visited her ex-husband to collect medication when she was ill. She also alleged to be pregnant with his child, citing this as a reason for continued communication. Chipfeya vehemently refuted these claims, asserting that their relationship was characterized by violence and that he could not possibly be the father of her child.
Magistrate Meenal Narotam granted the protection order, recognizing the urgent need for Chipfeya's safety and peace of mind. The case has brought to light the complexities of domestic violence, highlighting the emotional and psychological toll it can take on victims
