Airports to become culinary showcases for Zimbabwean Gastronomy

The Zimbabwean government is taking steps to elevate the country's culinary tourism offerings by establishing gastronomy centers at major airports.

The Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, led by Minister Barbra Rwodzi, is working in conjunction with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development to create these culinary hubs. These centers will serve as a gateway for visitors to experience the diverse and flavorful cuisine that Zimbabwe has to offer.

Minister Rwodzi emphasized the importance of showcasing Zimbabwean gastronomy to tourists, stating, "By exposing visitors to our unique food, we can entice them to further explore our country." Airports, with their high foot traffic, provide an ideal location for promoting this growing sub-sector.

Minister Felix Mhona of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development confirmed the government's plans, highlighting the VVIP Pavilion at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport as a potential site for a gastronomy center.
