Backlyfield Chivenga, a seasoned football coach with a wealth of experience across various levels and international platforms, is making significant strides in shaping the future of Zimbabwean football. Currently serving as the assistant coach for Harare City FC and the Zimbabwe national U20 team, as well as the head coach for the national U17 team, Chivenga's dedication and expertise have earned him widespread recognition.

Growing up in a family where football was initially discouraged, Chivenga's passion for the sport led him to play in secret. Through hard work and determination, he eventually earned his parents' support, paving the way for a successful football journey.

Chivenga's coaching career has taken him to various countries and clubs, exposing him to diverse styles and approaches. His experience as head of football development at Pretoria Athletics FC in South Africa, head coach for Juventus Academy Trivandrum Center in India, and technical manager for Aces Academy in Zimbabwe has enriched his coaching philosophy and made him the coach he is today.

Dedicated to nurturing young talent, Chivenga's work with academies and national youth teams has been instrumental in developing future stars. He believes that investing in junior football development is crucial for the overall growth of the sport in Zimbabwe. By prioritizing youth programs, clubs can not only contribute to the success of their teams but also play an essential role in elevating the standard of football in the country.

Outside football, Chivenga values quality time with his family and enjoys swimming as a way to relax and unwind. A proud father of two daughters, he has instilled a love for sports in his children, with one pursuing football and the other excelling in basketball.
