Zimbabwean cricketer, Tarisai Musakanda, 29, was on Sunday arrested following a heated domestic altercation with his wife, Tinodiwanashe Makunike.

Musakanda allegedly used a kitchen knife to stab his wife. She sustained injuries to both hands and her back.

According to reports, the incident happened at their home in Kwekwe, after Musakanda had an argument with two men who had come to collect their money from his wife after they had built a vending shelter for her.

It is reported that Musakanda and the two men had a violent altercation that later resulted in the clash between the married couple at 3 am.

Musakanda was subsequently arrested and is currently detained at Kwekwe Central Police Station.

This arrest comes after a previous legal issue in 2022, where Musakanda was charged with culpable homicide for causing the death of former tennis player Gwinyai Chingoka in a road accident.

He was later cleared of those charges.
